Family farm. Family run.
We're a working family farm raising heritage pork the way it used to be raised — on pasture, by hand, by people you can actually talk to.
How we got here
We're a family farm raising heritage breed hogs on open pasture. Our animals spend their lives outdoors, rooting, wallowing, and doing the things hogs are supposed to do. They eat a non-GMO feed mix supplemented with seasonal scraps from the garden, and they're never given antibiotics or hormones.
What you taste in the meat — the marbling, the depth, the fat that crisps instead of melts — comes from how they're raised. There's no shortcut to it.
What we believe
The way most pork is raised in this country is not the way pork was raised for most of human history. Industrial confinement gives you cheap pork, but it gives you pork that tastes like nothing and an animal that lived a life nobody would want to imagine.
We're not the cheapest. We're not trying to be. We're trying to raise pork the way our grandparents would have recognized — slowly, on land, with care — and sell it directly to people who care about the same things.
Where you come in
You can order cuts from our shop and we'll ship them to you frozen. Or you can reserve a share of a whole hog and pick it up at the farm, cut and wrapped to your specification.
Either way, you'll know where the meat came from, how the animal lived, and that someone you can talk to is on the other end of the transaction. That's the whole point.
